Join the reviewer pool
Instead of chasing reviewers one manuscript at a time, JGPCM keeps a standing pool of people who agree in advance to review a few manuscripts a year.
What you commit to
- Reviewing two to four manuscripts a year in the areas you choose. You can decline any invitation that does not fit or arrives at a bad time.
- Returning a report within three weeks of accepting an invitation, using the journal's short review form.
- Declaring any conflict of interest before you accept, and keeping manuscripts confidential. Reviewers may not upload manuscripts to generative AI tools.
What you get
- Manuscripts matched to the expertise you list, sent only after an editor has screened them.
- A certificate listing the reviews you have completed, on request, and, with your permission, a thank-you by name in the journal's annual reviewer list.
- For practitioners: a direct role in deciding what research reaches your field.
Who can join
Faculty and researchers with a record of publication in communication, media, or a related field; doctoral candidates who have published peer-reviewed work; and practitioners with substantial professional experience in journalism, law, policy, technology, or public communication. Practitioner reviewers are paired with an academic reviewer on every manuscript.
